Alpha lambda delta executive board

Overview

I had the privilege of serving on the executive board of Alpha Lambda Delta for the 2019-2020 academic year. Certified by the Association of College Honor Societies, ALD is founded on the pillars of service, scholarship, and community. The University of Cincinnati chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta is composed of more than 2,000 students that all became members during their first year of college. As the appointed secretary, my primary responsibility was to send out informational newsletters to our members as detailed in the section below; however, my involvement spanned much wider than that. Over the course of the year, I sold raffle tickets for our charity fundraiser, managed the Alpha Lambda Delta email account, attended all general body meetings and executive board meetings, and took notes on those meetings for members who requested additional information after being unable to attend. I also volunteered to lead our Halloween event when our social chair member had a last-minute emergency, as well as promoted our honor society by walking through several of our campus' residential halls by talking with first-year students about ALD and their potential future involvement. Alpha Lambda Delta catalyzed my personal growth to a much greater extent than what I had imagined for this stage of my college career. Serving on the executive board granted me the opportunity to expand on my strengths and apply them in a new manner. I heightened my ability to bring various people and their positions together by intertwining their interests during planning and promotional stages to best serve our members. My problem-solving abilities also became present when I devised a newsletter release schedule that better informed executive board members about content deadlines while also providing all ALD members with a consistent flux of information.

By clicking the button below, you will see the late January edition of the Alpha Lambda Delta newsletter I designed. These newsletters were sent out on a bi-weekly basis throughout the entire academic year. From meeting details and event posters to COVID-19 resources, each newsletter was created to efficiently communicate with all ALD members and to keep them informed and encourage their involvement in as many ways as possible.
